Questnet ( Q.I. ) the same old scam

Sunday, March 22, 2009 Posted by Jim

Wanna earn some money ?

wanna be a millionaire ... no problamous

join an internet marketing company called ( questnet ) now laying it hard in Egypt , maybe cause it's a third world country where most of us Egyptians know very little about Internet scams ..

so i met someone .. we sat in Starbucks and he talked about ( Questnet ) .. he said well you'll pay like 600 $ at least for useless goods like ( a necklace made of the cheapest brands of glass hanged by a rope ) which is guaranteed to inforce your inner powers .. and anothe ( glass plate ) that will detox the drinking water once you drop it on your cup ..

i said : " you're fucken ( excuse my language ) talking to a pharmacist here ... so either you start making some sense or i will just leave !! "

he then said " ok there are other stff you can buy ... some gold and jewellery or some swiss wrist watches "
frankly i got really angry then .. i said : " and you're expecting me to trust the company that sells a 50 cent - good for nothing - necklace for 600$ to the extent that i will buy Golden stuff from ??? "
he finally realised that was a dead end for him ... so he cut the bullshit and started talking at last
he said : " ok , never mind what you're buying , you're paying like 600$ just for the opportunity of doubling or even tripling that number in the future "
" you'll pay 600$ and buy ( whatever you 'll buy ) and at the same time you're becoming an ( I.R. ) of the company Questnet .. then you start getting peeps to join this company ( scam ) under your ( I.R. ) account .. and whenever you get 6 persons to join the company you'll get a 250 $ cheque ... and wheel goes round and round "

1- this is a pyramidal scheme Fraud ( clear as hell ) ..but What is a Pyramid Scheme/Multi-Level Marketing? .... well see what Jean Murray from ( home biz notes said about it )

According to the Securities and Exchange Commission, in a pyramid scheme individuals are encouraged to make money by selling others on the scheme. The person who recruited you gets money when you recruit others, and on up the line.

You get commissions based on what the people “downline” from you sell or who they recruit. In most cases, there is some kind of product, just to make the whole thing look legitimate. The problem is that the pyramid gets too big to sustain and collapses

Legit Business vs Scam?

What makes an “opportunity” a scam, instead of “legitimate”?

Here are some “red flags” to look for:

Investment Required.

You are required to put up an initial amount to “invest” in the business. In a legit business, the sales people don’t have to invest; they just have to sell.

Emphasis on Recruiting, not Products.

The emphasis is less on selling the products than on recruiting others to sell. In a pyramid scheme, you are told that your success depends on getting other people to sign on. You get a commission based on signing up other “downline” people. And the person “upline” from you got a commission from recruiting you.

Spending to Learn to Sell.

These companies love to have big sales meetings (that you pay to attend), where they hype you up and get you to buy lots of books and products to teach you how to sell. In a legitimate business, the company pays to train its sales people.

Market Saturation, value of product

Who actually needs this product? If you sold the product, how long would it take before you saturated the market? do you pay 600$ for a 50 cent necklace ?

Fool-Proof System.

There are NO GUARANTEES in life. Sorry. Anyone who tries to get you to sign up for a sales scheme and who says, “I guarantee you’ll make lots of money,” is lying. In most cases, they are more subtle about making promises, but you get a lot of hype and a lot of expectation.

Facts about Questnet :

1- the fact that the company is a 10 Years old one ( a fact they stress on so consistently ) is actually because it regularly changes it's name and goes from one country to another like grasshoppers , mainly third world countries where there're no laws to fight or detect this kind of scams and many poor peeps desperate to get rich
Pyramid schemes are based on simple mathematics: many losers pay a few winners. A nine-level pyramid, which is built when each participant gets six "friends" to join, would involve over ten million people!

2- the fact that questnet sells products doesn't mean that it's not a fraud ( which is another claim by the questnet guys )

why ?
because there are Product-based pyramid schemes where participating persons not only contribute money to a person identified at the top of the pyramid but also are encouraged to sell a product associated with the person at the top of the scheme. These product based pyramid schemes are often disguised as “business opportunities.” Product-based schemes are harder to detect.

The detection and evaluation of these schemes can be a complex process.

Persons wanting to learn more about product-based schemes are encouraged to access web site http://www.pyramidschemealert.org/.

this info. on top comes from New Mexico Attorney General website
------

some FACTS about pyramidal scheme companies ( like questnet ) :

1- It looks too good to be true! (Because it isn't true.)

2- How could it promise these huge incomes? (It only makes promises. It does not deliver on them.)

3-Where does the money come from? (From you and all the other new recruits , the newer ones pay the seniors !)

4- 99% of involved people end up losing all or some of their investments

5- these companies carry their death certificate within their own structure .. they're gonna die sooner or later . because they pay you from the money they collect from newer ones , so at a time when no more people joins the company it will simply die .. making 1% I.R.s very rich and making 99% robbed .

    lol.... funny funny,
well, no disrespect to the author, but who knows more about the economy? yourself " mr.pharmacist"? or the former president of the united states of america "a non-third world leader as per your in-secure words"? because last time i checked, Bill Clinton who had amazingly developed the USA's economy, also encouraged and endorsed so called scams, such as QUESTNET, known as the direct selling industry.. so i guess questnet has a better chance fooling a non-third world country, where one of their presidents encouraged this industry rather than come to an insecure-obsessed-to-be-ripped-off country filled with pharmacist who also think they're the ones who know everything about molecules, chemistry and energy.. and yes if you see me talking to you about questnet, please take me to the police, because we have been there, and those who sued us lost their cases and i guess we can open a new senario, saying how the world is fucked up and nothing is fair for us.. great article! and thank god you didn't get fooled by the questnet guy and you could outsmart him.. because u'd surely give the team u join a hard time learning, since you seem to know everything about everything in this life.. god bless and may the medicine industry ur working in " which to me is truly the biggest scam on the planet" be at you service!!

  13. Anonymous Said,

Questnet is not a scam at all! it is not even a pyramid scheme. What is really provoking is to have someone that doesnt understand the company beleifs and system. This article must be written by someone who really did not have the chance to truly understand the right concept. Many big business men like Donald Trump and Robert Kyiosaki refered to network marketing as one of the best business models for HARDWORKING PEOPLE that want to acheive something in life. Most of the people who quit this business are lazy and unproductive. These people want to have millions the very next day! without even following the right plan. I know many people who are VERY HARDWORKING that generate thousands of dollars each day, just because they have worked hard for it. For instance, when a student fails an exam, he complains on his/her teacher straightwards, and the student knows deeply from inside that he/she did not work hard at all! Quest net is a billion dollar company with a fabolous business profile. Many people changed their entire life to the very better. The company even gives MILLIONS of dollars each year for donations. Governments feel skeptical because they dont know the company very well, rather than communicating with questnet, they judge unfairly. The company DID NOT even LOSE any court. Every mainkind invention seems strange and suspecious in the beginning. But later on everyone believes. Even prophets of all religions couldnt convince all of the people in universe. Anyways, there must be people with or against any idea in this world.

In pyramidal marketing you get money according to your level. In questnet it is on performance basis. 1. There is no product at all.
    2. The top person will get 10% of next down line income + payment. In Questnet the downlines can earn more than their uplines unlike pyramidal marketing. Why cant u accept the fact when people make money by marketing? Please refer to the-week.com "Million dreams" how direct marketing has changed the life of many. You dont seem to question things on retail marketing...why is that? U get your coke for Rs10 when it is worth just 65paise. They are the ones who suck your money. The reaming goes to the distributors and advertisers. But why so much opposition when the customers make money instead of distributors! Why you dont oppose retial marketing ,but direct selling? Who has gone on a loss here? There are many of us who are making good profit. If 1 or 2 sit idle without doing anything , how will they make money?

How can the chain stop? Will the number of youngsters moving out of college going to stop? Or will students joining colleges goign to stop? Whats wrong in teh company making profit? Even the customers earn money......whats wrong in that. If you promote their business they give you a commission. Whats wrong in it. If you are working in an IT firm, dont you get a commission if you refer some experienced skilled people? Tell me dont you get! Do you call that as cheating? The company gets a good resource , so they give you a commission. Even the referral scheme works in the same way.

There is a degree called ‘ Network marketing’ offered by many well-known universities all over the world. I have read dozens of books, hundreds of articles and thousands of blogs before coming in to this business..
Each and every big company has a case on it!! Anyone can file a case against anyone..
That’s the reason all the companies have a legal advisor…

People who are defending QuestNet here, what a bunch of silly people you are!How can you fooled like this! You are either working for this company or you don't really think what this is about. This company is total scam and cannot trade in Europe or US.They might start but I assure you, everyone involves would end up in prison. That's why QuestNet goes to third world countries. Where they can easily rip off poor people. They need plenty of gap in laws so they can wash their hands easily when they need to. When I watched about their campaign i felt so sorry for people who fooled by QuestNet. There is no way on earth that stupid biodisc would work and what they show on tv sells only hopes but nothing else. I am an international bussinesman and live in London.I studied and practised bussiness law for years and definitely i can tell this is a huge scam. They cannot trade in Europe because in Europe this kind of trade counts as a pyramid scam!!!

  20. Anonymous Said,

I know this is a complete waste of time, but this is in your interest (Mr Author). I'll just provide some clarifications on the "red flags" which you have kindly highlighted.

    1) investment required - no, sorry a person does not need an investment. They can purchase a product most suitable/useful for them. Optionally, they can also become business partners of the company if they chose to. ( it is not compulsory)

    2) Emphasis on Recruiting, not Products. - We do not recruit people. Our main emphasis is on building a sustainable market. And for that we need new business business partners working in that geographical area. The only way the company and in turn the IRs earn money is by selling products. ( no product sale = no money ). I'm sure that this is the same case with every single company on this planet.

3)Fool-Proof System. - This is a fool-proof system. If you work, you will earn. If you do not work, you will not earn. But let me warn you, this is not easy. This is by far the most difficult career I've had and also the most rewarding. But it does work, I can say that. If somebody tells you network marketing is easy, its rubbish.. its not easy to earn large amounts of money. this is just like any other field. You need to put sweat and blood into it to be successful.

4)Market Saturation, value of product - Your claim is that the products do not have a market. People in the 60s thought computers will never have a market. People in the 20's thought radios will never have a market. Around 1905, people thought the "car" will never replace the horse. So, please, do a little bit of research before talking nonsense.

Also, you say that Q-net is a pyramid scheme because people at the top earn the maximum amount of money and people at the bottom earn the least. All the companies work in the same manner. Can you please give me one example where the CEO earns less that his subordinates ??

Also, about your claim that most people fail in Network Marketing - people dont fail at anything. they quit before they become successful. Most people quit most of the things they try in life. why do u think this is any different ??

About your claim that only 1% of the people make money. That is how the WORLD works, in case you haven't noticed !

For educational purposes, check out this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FclI8hGQgb4

Also there is a difference between having a computer store and studying computer science.
You are a fucking pharmacist, so please keep your useless opinions about medicine with yourself.

I am not suggesting that Network Marketing is suitable for everyone. Please do your research before you come to any decision. Also, please take responsibility for what results you accomplish in life and stop blaming/crediting others for it.

Disclaimer: The above text is just my opinion. Also, the URL contains a link to a video on youtube.com . I do not own the video.

  21. Anonymous Said,

The guy above me must be caught in the web. Don't get the wrong idea, its business. MLM companies like Avon which actually sell affordable and useful stuff are better off than Questnet.
I was almost dragged into it myself when I was a freshman but got wind of the scheme of things but unfortunately, lots of freshies get duped. The leaders flaunt the ideal of wealth infront of your face but in the end, they make more money while you do all the hard work. Just think about it, the top brass sipping pina coladas on a tropical island while you try to sell 'bio-discs'.
About recruitment, they're always trying to recruit whoever they sell stuff to.
So what if he's a pharmacist,he's in an honest profession.

  23. Nika Said,

For anyone above who has posted a bad-mouthing comment- if you have never sat down and TRULY done your research into the Qnet business or any other network marketing business, then kindly do some research before posting nonsense about a subject you so clearly know nothing about.

It's funny how all the comments of truth are from people who have obviously done their research or are involved in the business and none of the negative comments are from ANYONE (please speak up me if I'm wrong) who has embarked upon building a network.

And Dear ol' Jim- have a look through the pages history at what they said about franchises and how they tried to make them illegal- doubt you'd have much to say once you realise that EVERY new idea is ridiculed, challenged and finally accepted as norm... WAKE UP to a new way of doing things- this world is fast changing or have you been too busy being distracted by the crap online and on TV to notice?

  24. Anonymous Said,

    @ "anonymous" post number 21

I am not caught in any web, its just that I have a brain and I do my research. I have done research on networking for 6 months. I know what I'm talking about. And also, i have nothing against pharmacists. Its just that i know who to listen to for any particular. If my car is broken, i dont ask a doctor what is wrong with the car. I can listen to a pharmacist on how to manage a pharmacy.
I'm sorry, i cannot take opinions of the latest medical developments from a pharmacist.
And also, you trying to indirect imply that networking is a dishonest profession was rather stupid. Again, i've done my research and I KNOW this profession is legal, more legal that working in insurance, or being a pharmacist etc... Sorry jim, nothing against you, that person just pisses me off :P .

Anyway, have a great time :)

I dont want to be in the discussion if this is MLM / Pyramid Scam or a legitimate business opportunity ..... but i would suggest everyone to read a book named "Merchant of Deception" By Eric Scheibeler

    @ post 27:
Referring to the last line in your post. Ofcourse its not a pegion you fucking moron !! there is no such thing as a pegion. There is a bird called pigeon that I know of.
You see, this mistake that you have made highlights your basic problem, you have incomplete knowledge and you are oblivious to that fact.
@author and @ everyone who thinks QNet is a Pyramid Scheme or is illegal: Congrats ! Well Spotted! You have saved yourself approx $1000 of your hard earned money. Though I'm not really sure why you are so angry/pissed off with Network Marketing, so I'm just trying to reason it out here. I suppose one of your friends or colleagues showed you the plan. Can you please tell me what that person would have gained by conning you ? If you liked what you saw and had signed up that day, the person who showed you the plan would have earned some $40. Now here is my question to you. Do you really think that you are worth less than $40 to who ever showed you the plan?
Also, let us say that you looked at the plan completely and understood that most of your dreams may come true with QNet's help, Do you not think that it is worth investing/spending $1000? Do you believe that your dreams, desires, the dreams of your loved ones are not worth even $1000 ?

Oh, and for all those people who say that no one ever earns money, I earn a satisfying amount of money from QNet. I'm currently doing my Masters in CS, and I earn approx $3000 a month. I have teams in 8 countries now including US and UK. And FYI, I'm 23.

So all those idiots who say that QNet is a pyramid scheme or some scam and its illegal, I have an advice.
Atleast admit to yourself that you don't have the BALLS to go all out to achieve your dreams !

MLM involves a starting point & it spreads outwards as branches. Even though QNET is selling products it still involves people forming a chain. In such schemes, people purchase products even if they don't need it. There has been no news about the 'revolutionary products' as endorsed by QNET. If QNET is doing business legally, why haven't we heard about them in the news or media? All the people who are earning money through this method are doing so at the expense of others. Its true that the world opposes new ideas, but the people who suport this company & its ideas so adamantly, should come out & defend themselves openly, rather than using the 'F' word on blogs or forums to prove their point.

I have read articles from multiple nations that are dealing with this problem and I have also did my research from government websites, amateur blogs, qnet's website till case files. I am a student of law in Malaysia and was approached several times concerning the subject above. Yet, I realized that the Qnet system resembles familiarly with the pyramid scheme except certain terms and a little modification here and there. Ironicly, it is a legal company under the law of Malaysia. Therefore I believe that in my own opinion that it is a wrong thing that was made right. Neither of you should use personal experience as evidence that this system works. What matters is how are you guys gonna change perception on your system that is similar to the pyramid scheme. Use logical reasoning and not examples of success. If anyone who wishes to further enlighten myself, you may do so as I am prepared to see both sides further argument especially on the Qnet side on a more rational reasoning.

The reason your CEO gets to talk at big events is because he stays at all the wealthy hotels and resorts with poor peoples money where he meets the big guns who he charismatically tells buckets of lies to and cleverly gets invited to these events. (very similar to how a beautiful, charming girl smartly gets married to wealthy man not for love but for his wealth). The reason for the name change was due to countries banning Qest due to it being a scam therefore a new name and image was vital to re-launch the company. Cleaver man though steals from the poor, fills his pockets then gives a little to the people and calls it charity. One of my friend from Lanka gave all her life saving to Qest and what do you know never saw a cent again and is in serious financial difficulty. The company doesn't return her mails or calls. Must say Eswaran is a very cleaver conman who partly gets huge support as he talks in the name of the lord, and he is a great motivator, therefore a weak person goes to him for a chat and he says all the things they want to hear...and POW....

    Pyramid Schemes

As in Ponzi schemes, the money collected from newer victims of the fraud is paid to earlier victims to provide a veneer of legitimacy. In pyramid schemes, however, the victims themselves are induced to recruit further victims through the payment of recruitment commissions.

More specifically, pyramid schemes—also referred to as franchise fraud or chain referral schemes—are marketing and investment frauds in which an individual is offered a distributorship or franchise to market a particular product. The real profit is earned, not by the sale of the product, but by the sale of new distributorships. Emphasis on selling franchises rather than the product eventually leads to a point where the supply of potential investors is exhausted and the pyramid collapses. At the heart of each pyramid scheme is typically a representation that new participants can recoup their original investments by inducing two or more prospects to make the same investment. Promoters fail to tell prospective participants that this is mathematically impossible for everyone to do, since some participants drop out, while others recoup their original investments and then drop out.

    Tips for Avoiding Pyramid Schemes:

Be wary of “opportunities” to invest your money in franchises or investments that require you to bring in subsequent investors to increase your profit or recoup your initial investment.
Independently verify the legitimacy of any franchise or investment before you invest.

    Pyramid schemes

    What is a pyramid scheme?
    Warning signs
    Protect yourself from pyramid schemes
    Do your homework
    Decide
    Report them

    What is a pyramid scheme?

Pyramid schemes are illegal and very risky ‘get-rich-quick’ schemes that can cost a lot of people a lot of money.

Promoters at the top of the pyramid make their money by having people join the scheme. Then they pocket the fees and other payments made by those who join under them.

In a typical pyramid scheme, a member pays to join. The only way for the member to ever recover any money is to convince other people to join up and to part with their money as well.

In contrast, people in legitimate multi-level marketing earn money by selling genuine products to consumers, not from the recruiting process. Be aware though, some pyramid scheme promoters disguise their true purpose by introducing products that are overpriced, of poor quality, difficult to sell or of little value. Making money out of recruitment is still their main aim.

People often hear about pyramid schemes from friends, family or neighbours. Normally, pyramid schemes recruit members at seminars, home meetings, over the phone or even by mail. Now email, usually as spam, is increasingly used to recruit members as well.

For the scheme to work so that everyone can make a profit there would have to be an endless supply of new members. In reality, the number of people willing to join the scheme (and therefore, the amount of money coming into the scheme) dries up very quickly. When the pyramid collapses (and they all do) relationships, friendships and even marriages can be destroyed over money lost in the scam.

In Australia, it is against the law not only to promote a pyramid scheme, but even to participate in one.
    Top
    Warning signs

You are offered a chance to join a group, scheme, program or team where you need to recruit new members to make money.
The scheme involves offers of goods or services of little or doubtful value that serve only to promote the scheme (such as information sheets).
There is a big up-front cost to pay for large quantities of goods.
There are no goods or services being offered for sale by the scheme.
The promoter makes claims like ‘this is not a pyramid scheme’ or ‘this is totally legal’.

    Top
    Protect yourself from pyramid schemes

If it looks too good to be true—it probably is.
Use your common sense: the offer may be a scam.
Do not let anyone pressure you into making decisions about money or investments: always get independent financial advice.
You can contact your local office of fair trading, ASIC or the ACCC for assistance.
Beware of products or schemes that claim to guarantee income or winnings.
Remember that family members and friends may try to involve you in a scam without realising that it is a scam: you should seek independent advice (from a lawyer or financial adviser)

As well as following these specific tips, find out how to protect yourself from all sorts of other scams.
    Top
    Do your homework

Pyramid schemes often look like legitimate multi-level marketing schemes. To tell the difference between them, ask yourself these two questions:

Are the rewards you have been promised based on product sales (by either yourself or others you introduce to the scheme)?
Are the products genuine products of real value, at a reasonable price and the type of thing that consumers will want to buy time and time again?
If you are unsure or answered no to either of these questions, there is a real chance that the scheme is a pyramid scheme.

If you have doubts about a particular marketing scheme, the ACCC, ASIC or your state or territory fair trading agency may be able to help. As with any other investment decision, you should seek independent advice (for example, from a lawyer or accountant) before you make a decision.
